Hey guys, I'm Sam - the one behind the wheel of the 80 Series land whale! I’ve been obsessed with anything that has an engine since I was a kid, and got hooked on 4WDing as a teen. If I’d known I’d end up wheeling a Land Cruiser, I probably would've started saving way earlier. I fell in love with this big rig, set some solid goals, and now a few years later, she’s a fully kitted tourer ready to handle whatever I throw at her.
2019
After purchasing the truck bone stock in 2018, Sam wanted to spend time learning more about the truck before moving on to some modest modifications in stage 1 of the build.
This stage included:
2-inch lift, tyres, bar work (front and sides), winch and a 3-inch exhaust.
2020-2021

2022-2023
This build was more of an elevation and upgrade on the prior build and treated as an investment rather than testing.
This stage included:
New tyres, Wildland hardshell tent, Lucas Creek 270° Fantail awning, GME in car uhf, water tank, new 3-inch front suspension, lighting, lithium battery, 2000w inverter, rear setup finalised with standing fridge, draws, sliding pantry and ply/carpet setup.
